How It Works
Practical Lessons from 25 years in the movie business
Through the years I’ve watched far too many good stories simply sit on the shelf and collect dust. Or worse, I’ve seen good scripts turned into bad movies. It is incredibly difficult to make a great movie. I’ve worked on both big budget studio films and independently produced film projects. The industry is changing rapidly and I want to help you navigate what I view as the greatest time for film since it’s inception. I will teach you about the various ways to get your film or TV project distributed, but even more importantly I will teach you how to turn your script into something that people want to make into a movie.
I get asked all the time how to develop a film, find financing, attract a cast & crew, and find distribution. To make a movie is a tremendous challenge that requires knowledge and understanding of the film industry that very few people possess.
I want to show you how the film industry really works. In an in-depth one day seminar I will teach you what works and how to take your film from dream to reality. I will also show you things such as how to attract top talent on a low budget, where to find reliable financing, and what it takes to keep a project moving from first draft to completion. I will freely share the wisdom I’ve gained in my 25 years of experience in several open Q&A sessions. I understand the challenges of filmmaking and my goal is to help you overcome them.
